     Joan Mary Brightman is the daughter of Cecil Frederick Brightman.1 She married Sir Arnold Adrian Jarvis, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Joseph John Jarvis, 1st Bt. and Bessie Woodfield, on 26 September 1935.1 She and Sir Arnold Adrian Jarvis, 2nd Bt. were divorced in 1945.1
     From 26 September 1935, her married name became Jarvis.1

     Sir Hugh Lett, 1st Bt. was born on 17 April 1876.1 He was the son of Richard Alfred Lett and Bithiah Appleford.1 He married Nellie Buckston Browne, daughter of Sir George Buckston Browne, on 14 November 1906.1 He died on 19 July 1964 at age 88.2
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He graduated from London Hospital, London, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He graduated from London Hospital, Marlborough, London, England, with a Bachelor of Surgery (Ch.B.)1 He graduated from Victoria University of Manchester, Manchester, Lancashire, England, in 1899.1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.) in 1901.1 He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.) in 1901.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) in 1902.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916, in France and Belgium.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He was a practising consulting suregon to Genito-Urinary Department at London Hospital, London, England.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lett, of Walmer, co. Kent [U.K.] on 31 January 1941.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1947.1 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.2
