     John Montagu Emile Sydney Tharp was born on 26 January 1875 at London, England.¹ He was the son of Theodore Augustus Tharp and Margaret Annabel Black Spence.¹ He married Katharine Madeline Aberigh-Mackay, daughter of George Robert Aberigh-Mackay and Mary Ann Louisa Cherry, on 7 September 1901 at St. Anne's Church, Eastbourne, Sussex, England.¹ He died in October 1906 at age 31.¹
