Sir Robert Gore Micklethwait was born on 7 November 1902.1 He was the son of St. John Gore Micklethwait.1 He married Philippa Janette Bosanquet, daughter of Sir Samuel Ronald Courthope Bosanquet and Mary Acland Anson, in 1936.1 He died on 8 September 1992 at age 89 at Englefield Green, Surrey, England.1
He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1925 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Recorder of Worcester between 1946 and 1959.1 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1956.1 He was appointed Knight in 1964.1 He was Chief of the National Insurance Commission between 1966 and 1975.1
