     He succeeded as the 8.Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich in 1951.

     Carl Christian Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich was born in 1975.¹ He is the son of Philipp-Reinhard Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich and Marie Fouché d'Otrante. He married Countess Christina Douglas, daughter of Count Patrick Douglas and Alexandra von Berlichingen, on 13 December 2008 at Vienna, Austria, in a civil marriage. Carl Christian and Christina were also married in a religious ceremony on 5 September 2009 at Marienstifskirche, Vienna, Austria.
     He succeeded as the 9.Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich in 2015.

     Countess Christina Douglas is the daughter of Count Patrick Douglas and Alexandra von Berlichingen. She married Carl Christian Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich, son of Philipp-Reinhard Fürst zu Solms-Hohensolms-Lich and Marie Fouché d'Otrante, on 13 December 2008 at Vienna, Austria, in a civil marriage. Christina and Carl Christian were also married in a religious ceremony on 5 September 2009 at Marienstifskirche, Vienna, Austria.

     Count Patrick Douglas is the son of Count Ludwig Friedrich Douglas. He married Alexandra von Berlichingen.

     Graf Ludwig Vilhelm Douglas was born in 1849 at Zurich, Switzerland.¹ He was the son of Graf Carl Israel Wilhelm Douglas and Louise Gräfin von Langenstein und Gondelsheim.¹ He married Gräfin Anna Louise Dorothea Ehrensvärd, daughter of Albert Ehrensvärd and Christina Vogt, in 1876. He died in 1916.¹

     Pauline Rosemary Fletcher was born circa 1910.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Edward Lionel Fletcher.¹ She married Christopher York, son of Lt.-Col. Edward York and Violet Helen Milner.¹ She died in April 2007.¹
