Colonel Maxwell Du Pré Stronge was born on 4 December 1824.1 He was the son of Sir James Mathew Stronge, 2nd Bt. and Isabella Calvert.2 He married Jane Colclough Goff, daughter of Joseph Fade Goff, on 13 December 1852.1 He died on 31 December 1916 at age 92, without issue.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 52nd Light Infantry.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Sligo Rifles.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the DCO Sligo Artillery.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was appointed at Raheenduff House, Foulks Hill, County Wexford, Ireland.1
