     Florence Mary Scarlett was born on 28 October 1880.2 She was the daughter of Reverend James Williams Scarlett and Barbara Isabella Lawson.3,2 She married Gordon Locksley Salt, son of Titus Salt and Catherine Crossley, on 29 April 1903.1 She died on 14 January 1959 at age 78.1
     From 29 April 1903, her married name became Salt.

     John Scarlett Alexander Salt was born on 8 June 1905.1 He was the son of Gordon Locksley Salt and Florence Mary Scarlett.2 He married Olive Mary Shapley, daughter of William Gilbert Shapley, on 14 July 1939.1 He died on 26 December 1947 at age 42.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1927 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1939 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers.1 He was first Director of Broadcasting to Europe and North American Director of the BBC during the Second World War.1 He was Programme Director of the Northern Region, BBC.1

     Olive Mary Shapley is the daughter of William Gilbert Shapley.2 She married John Scarlett Alexander Salt, son of Gordon Locksley Salt and Florence Mary Scarlett, on 14 July 1939.1
     Only.1 Her married name became Salt. On 31 October 1952 married 2nd Christopher Bellhouse Gorton (d 2 Nov 1959.1

     Sir Daniel Alexander Salt, 8th Bt. was born on 15 August 1943.1 He is the son of John Scarlett Alexander Salt and Olive Mary Shapley.2 He married Mehrchide Emami, daughter of Dr. Ahmad Emami, on 26 August 1968.1
     He was educated at Cheadle Hulme School, Cheadle, Cheshire, EnglandG.1 He lived in 2003 at Tyn-y-Celyn, Trefeglwys, Caersws, Powys, Wales.1 He lived in 2024 at Oxfordshire, England. He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Salt, of Saltaire, co. York [U.K., 1869] on 12 June 2024.
