Sir Mark Simon Robert Heathcote, 10th Bt. was born on 1 March 1941.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Gilbert Simon Heathcote, 9th Bt. and Patricia Margaret Leslie.2 He married Susan Mary Ashley, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Ashley, on 15 May 1976.1 He died on 29 August 2025 at age 84.3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was with P&O SN Company between 1963 and 1970.1 He was Counsellor with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 1971 and 1994.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1988.1 He was with BP plc in 1994.1 He lived in 2003 at Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Heathcote, of the City of London [G.B., 1733] on 15 April 2014.3
