Jane Gilmour1

     Jane Gilmour was the daughter of Walter Little-Gilmour, 6th of Craigmillar and 11th of Gilberton and Anne Macdowell.2 She married, firstly, Major Robert Gordon, 17th of Hallhead and 5th of Esslemont, son of Colonel George Gordon, 4th of Esslemont and 15th of Hallhead and Anne Baird, on 13 July 1825.2 She married, secondly, George Hermand Fergusson, son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 23 March 1841.2 She died on 26 December 1844.2
     She was also known as Jane Little.2 From 13 July 1825, her married name became Gordon. From 23 March 1841, her married name became Fergusson.2

Henry Perkins Wolrige1

     Henry Perkins Wolrige was born on 14 May 1831. He was the son of Colonel John Wolrige and Mary Ann Knox.1 He married Ann Wolrige Gordon, 7th of Esslemont and 18th of Hallhead, daughter of Major Robert Gordon, 17th of Hallhead and 5th of Esslemont and Jane Gilmour, on 27 May 1856.1 He died on 14 July 1906 at age 75.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn entitled to practise as a barrister.1 On 8 July 1864 his name was legally changed to Henry Perkins Gordon Wolrige by Deed Poll.2 On 17 March 1873 his name was legally changed to Henry Perkins Wolrige Gordon by Deed Poll.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1895 in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.1 He greatly increased the Esselmont estate by purchasing various outlying parts.1

Ann Wolrige Gordon, 7th of Esslemont and 18th of Hallhead1

     Ann Wolrige Gordon, 7th of Esslemont and 18th of Hallhead was the daughter of Major Robert Gordon, 17th of Hallhead and 5th of Esslemont and Jane Gilmour.2 She married Henry Perkins Wolrige, son of Colonel John Wolrige and Mary Ann Knox, on 27 May 1856.1 She died on 28 April 1874.1
     She was given the name of Ann Gordon at birth.1 On 8 July 1864 her name was legally changed to Ann Gordon Wolrige by Deed Poll.1 On 17 March 1873 her name was legally changed to Ann Wolrige Gordon by Deed Poll.1

     William Chaloner was born in 1655.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Chaloner and Ann Ingoldsby.1 He married Honora Foulis, daughter of Sir David Foulis, 3rd Bt., on 15 August 1682.1 He died circa 15 February 1715.1 He was buried on 18 February 1715.
     He had eleven other children.1

John Gordon Wolrige Gordon, 8th of Esslemont and 19th of Hallhead1

     John Gordon Wolrige Gordon, 8th of Esslemont and 19th of Hallhead was born on 20 December 1859.1 He was the son of Henry Perkins Wolrige and Ann Wolrige Gordon, 7th of Esslemont and 18th of Hallhead.2 He married Isabel Hervey Wodehouse, daughter of William Hervey Wodehouse, on 30 April 1889.1 He died on 30 September 1925 at age 65.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1897 and 1898.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Aberdeenshire.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 28 February 1907.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Brevet-Colonel between 1914 and 1919 in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 5th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.1

Lt.-Col. Walter Gordon Wolrige Gordon1

     Lt.-Col. Walter Gordon Wolrige Gordon was born on 29 January 1861.1 He was the son of Henry Perkins Wolrige and Ann Wolrige Gordon, 7th of Esslemont and 18th of Hallhead.2 He died on 21 June 1938 at age 77, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1884.1 He fought in the Sudan Expedition between 1884 and 1885.1 He fought in the Matabeleland Campaign between 1893 and 1894.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the The Black Watch.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches five times.1

     Sylvia Jean Dorothy Machin is the daughter of Bernard Edgar Machin.2 She married Rt. Hon. Sir Anthony Adney Evans, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Walter Harry Evans, 1st Bt. and Margaret Mary Dickens, in 1958.1
