Adam Durnford Gordon was born on 22 August 1796.1 He was the son of William Gordon and Frances Elrington.2 He married Harriet Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Robert Gordon, on 12 September 1829.1 He died on 16 June 1857 at age 60.1

Anne Baird was the daughter of William Baird, 5th of Newbyth and Alicia Johnston. She married Colonel George Gordon, 4th of Esslemont and 15th of Hallhead, son of Robert Gordon, 3rd of Esslemont and 14th of Hallhead and Lady Henrietta Gordon, on 17 January 1790.1 She died in 1803.1
