Robert Spear Hudson, 1st Viscount Hudson was born on 15 August 1886.1 He was the son of Robert William Hudson and Gerda Frances Marion Bushel Johnson.1 He married Hannah Randolph, daughter of Philip Synge Physick Randolph, on 1 December 1918.2 He died on 2 February 1957 at age 70.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland, Whitehaven Division between 1924 and 1929.1 He was awarded the Companion of Honour (C.H.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Southport between 1931 and 1952.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1938.2 He held the office of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1940 and 1945.2 He held the office of Minister of Shipping between April 1940 and May 1940.3 He was created 1st Viscount Hudson, of Pewsey, co.
