Sir Robert Wilmot, 2nd Bt. was born illegitimately circa 1751.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Wilmot, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Foote.2 He married, firstly, Juliana Elizabeth Byron, daughter of Admiral Hon. John Byron and Sophia Trevannion, on 23 September 1783.1 He married, secondly, Mary Anne Howard on 15 May 1795.2 He died on 23 July 1834.2
