     Rupert George Raw was born on 5 April 1912.1 He was the son of Rupert George Raw and Winifred Melville Francis.1 He died on 6 January 1988 at age 75.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1946, serving with the S.O.E. in Yugoslavia.1 He was with the Allied Control Commission between 1946 and 1952 at Berlin, Germany.2 He was Finance Director of the Organization for European Economic Co-operation between 1952 and 1955 at Paris, France.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)2 He was Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of England between 1962 and 1972.2 He was UK Director of the European Investment Bank between 1973 and 1981.2
