     Sir Surr William Duncan, 1st Bt. was born on 14 January 1834.¹ He was the son of William Morrison Duncan and Elizabeth Cockill.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Heaton, daughter of Thomas Colby Heaton.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Kenion, daughter of William Kenion, on 16 August 1856.¹ He died on 31 December 1908 at age 74.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for West Riding, Yorkshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Duncan, of Horsforth Hall, Guiseley, West Riding, co. York [U.K.] on 9 December 1905.¹

     Sir Frederick William Duncan, 2nd Bt. was born on 12 August 1859.¹ He was the son of Sir Surr William Duncan, 1st Bt. and Mary Kenion.¹ He married Helen Julia Pfizer, daughter of Charles Pfizer, on 22 May 1888.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Duncan, of Horsforth Hall, Guiseley, West Riding, co. York [U.K., 1905] on 31 December 1908.¹ He was Consult-General for Austria between 1912 and 1914.¹

     Mary Kenion was the daughter of William Kenion.¹ She married, firstly, W. Bentley.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Surr William Duncan, 1st Bt., son of William Morrison Duncan and Elizabeth Cockill, on 16 August 1856.¹ She died on 1 April 1867.¹
     Her married name became Bentley.¹ From 16 August 1856, her married name became Duncan.¹

     William Kenion lived at Yeadon, Yorkshire, England.¹

     William Morrison Duncan was born on 8 June 1771.¹ He was the son of John Duncan.¹ He married Elizabeth Cockill, daughter of Robert Cockill, on 3 November 1812.¹ He died on 14 June 1840 at age 69.¹
     He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He lived at Drighlington, Yorkshire, England.¹

     John Duncan was born circa 1737.¹ He died in 1807.¹

     Elizabeth Cockill was the daughter of Robert Cockill.¹ She married William Morrison Duncan, son of John Duncan, on 3 November 1812.¹ She died on 5 October 1842.¹

     Florence Jane Duncan was the daughter of Sir Surr William Duncan, 1st Bt. and Mary Kenion.¹ She married Hans Hermann Grosse on 5 February 1877.¹ She died on 11 August 1889.¹
     From 5 February 1877, her married name became Grosse.¹
