Arthur Loftus Onslow was born on 16 July 1874.1 He was the son of Douglas Arthur Onslow and Caroline Isabel Tottenham.1 He married Mabel Longstaff, daughter of George Blundell Longstaff, on 3 February 1900.1 He died on 11 August 1957 at age 83.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He graduated from Selwyn College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1895 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of temporary Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, Montgomeryshire Volunteer Regiment.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Montgomeryshire between 1936 and 1937.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Montgomeryshire.1
