     Violet Elizabeth Emily Troubridge was the daughter of Sir Thomas St. Vincent Hope Cochrane Troubridge, 3rd Bt. and Louisa Jane Gurney.² She married Walter Somerville Gurney, son of Sir Somerville Arthur Gurney, on 22 November 1893.¹ She died on 14 August 1931.¹
     From 22 November 1893, her married name became Gurney.

     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps (TA.)¹
