Charles Cornwallis Anderson-Pelham-Welby was born on 30 September 1876.1 He was the son of Hon. Evelyn Cornwallis Anderson-Pelham and Harriet Frances Hutton.1 He died on 5 October 1959 at age 83, unmarried.1
He was given the name of Charles Cornwallis Anderson-Pelham at birth.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Leicestershire Yeomanry.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 11th Hussars (SR.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in the Royal Field Artillery.1 On 16 April 1937 his name was legally changed to Charles Cornwallis Anderson-Pelham-Welby by Royal Licence.1 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1945.1
