     Lionel Thomas Spens was born on 3 December 1850.¹ He was the son of James Spens and Penelope Clarina Westropp.² He married Eliza Margaret Alsager Blake, daughter of W Wood Blake.¹ He died on 2 May 1921 at age 70.¹

     Maud Ethel Margaret Spens is the daughter of Lionel Thomas Spens and Eliza Margaret Alsager Blake.² She married Frederick Vaughan Hutchins on 22 May 1907.¹
     From 22 May 1907, her married name became Hutchins.

     Jane Moxhay was baptised on 21 June 1813 at St. Mary Steps, Exeter, Devon, England.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Hellings Moxhay and Rebecca Dare.¹

     Augusta Mary Townshend was the daughter of Reverend Lord George Osborne Townshend and Jessie Victoria McKellar.¹ She married Colonel George Brooke Meares on 16 August 1865.² She died on 25 January 1919.²
     From 16 August 1865, her married name became Meares.

     Eileen Ida Julia Spens is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. James Spens and Ida Beatrice McMahon.²

     Dorothy Spens was born circa 1890.¹ She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. James Spens and Ida Beatrice McMahon.² She died on 23 November 1960, unmarried.¹
