     Eleanor Jane Portal was the daughter of Sir Wyndham Spencer Portal, 1st Bt. and Mary Jane Beach.² She married Chaloner William Chute, son of William Lyde Wiggett Chute and Martha Buckworth, on 6 April 1875.¹ She died on 26 March 1944, leaving issue.¹
