     Alan fitz Flaald was the son of Flaald, Seneschal de Dol en Bretagne.2 He married Aveline de Hesding, daughter of Arnulph de Hesding, Seigneur of Hesdin and Emmelina (?).3
     He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire in 1101.1 Before 1122 he founded Sporle Priory, Norfolk as a cell of St. Saumur of Brittany.3

     Flaald, Seneschal de Dol en Bretagne was the son of Allan, Seneschal de Dol.1 He died between 1080 and 1106.1
     He gained the title of Seneschal de Dol en Bretagne.1 Circa 1101 he was active on the Welsh border.1

     William fitz Alan was the son of Alan fitz Flaald and Aveline de Hesding.1 He married, secondly, Isabel de Say, daughter of Elias de Say.2 He married, firstly, Christian (?)2 He died in 1160.2
     He gained the title of Lord of Oswestrie, Shropshire [feudal barony].1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire in 1138.2 He was besieged at Castlelan Shrewsbury as an adherent to Empress Maud by King Stephen.2 In 1155 he was restored to his lands by King Henry II.2

     John Stewart was born circa 1216. He was the son of Walter Stewart, 3rd High Steward of Scotland and Beatrix of Angus.1 He died circa 1249 at Damietta, EgyptG, slain fighting the Saracens.1
     He went on Crusade with King Louis IX of France.2

Walter Stewart, Earl of Menteith1

     Walter Stewart, Earl of Menteith was born circa 1218. He was the son of Walter Stewart, 3rd High Steward of Scotland and Beatrix of Angus.2 He married Mary of Menteith, Countess of Menteith, daughter of Muireadhach II, Mormaer of Menteith. He died between 1 September 1294 and 28 April 1296.1,2
     Walter Stewart, Earl of Menteith also went by the nick-name of Walter 'Ballach' (or in English, Walter 'the Freckled.1') In 1248 He allegedly went on Crusade with King Louis IX of France.3 After his marriage, Walter Stewart, Earl of Menteith was styled as Earl of Menteith circa 1260, suo uxoris.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Ayrshire in 1264.3 He held the office of Sheriff of Dunbartonshire in 1289.3

     Mary of Menteith, Countess of Menteith was the daughter of Muireadhach II, Mormaer of Menteith.2 She married Walter Stewart, Earl of Menteith, son of Walter Stewart, 3rd High Steward of Scotland and Beatrix of Angus. She died before 1286.1
     She gained the title of 5th Countess of Menteith.2
