Lavender Mary Jex Jackson is the daughter of Francis William Jex Jackson.2 She married Sir Alexander Keith Maitland, 8th Bt., son of Lt.-Col. Sir George Ramsay Maitland, 7th Bt. and Jean Hamilton Findlay, on 17 March 1951.1

Sir Richard John Maitland, 9th Bt. was born on 24 November 1952.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Keith Maitland, 8th Bt. and Lavender Mary Jex Jackson.2 He married Carine Celia Ann Coldwell, daughter of James St. George Coldwell, on 21 November 1981.1 He died in 1994.1
He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Maitland, of Clifton, Midlothian [U.K., 1818] on 18 July 1963.1
