Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive of Plassey also went by the nick-name of Clive of India.4 He was educated at Lostock, Cheshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Market Drayton, Shropshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated circa 1737 at Merchant Taylors' School, London, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was a writer in the Honourable East India Company Service in 1743.1 He was commissioned in 1747 with the rank of Ensign.1 He fought in the Siege of Pondicherry.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant.1 He fought in the capture of Devikota, with the forlorn hope.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
