     Sir Cowasjee Jehangir, 1st Bt. was born on 8 June 1853.1 He was the son of unknown Jehangir.1 He married Dhunbai Wadia, daughter of Ardeshir Hormusjee Wadia, on 21 March 1876.1 He died on 27 July 1934 at age 81.1
     He was adopted by an unknown person.1 He was a shipowner and pioneer of trade between India and China.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) [Bombay]1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1895.1 He was created 1st Baronet Jehangir, of Malabar Hill, Bombay [U.K.] on 16 July 1908.1 He was a delegate of the Parsee Matrimonial Court.1 He was a mill owner, Bombay landowner, and philanthropist.1 He was a senior member of the Parsi-Panchayel.1 He was a banker to the Honourable East India Company.1 On 22 September 1911 the Supreme Legislative Council ordained that his successors assume the name of the 1st Baronet.1
