Sir Archibald Buchan-Hepburn of Smeaton Hepburn, 4th Bt. was born on 12 March 1852.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Buchan-Hepburn of Smeaton Hepburn, 3rd Bt. and Helen Little.1 He married Edith Agnes Karslake, daughter of Edward Kent Karslake, on 7 October 1890.1 He died on 17 May 1929 at age 77.1
He was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, ScotlandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1875 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple|barrister.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Haddingtonshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Haddingtonshire.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Buchan-Hepburn [U.K., 1815] on 17 December 1893.1

Edith Agnes Karslake was the daughter of Edward Kent Karslake.1 She married Sir Archibald Buchan-Hepburn of Smeaton Hepburn, 4th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Buchan-Hepburn of Smeaton Hepburn, 3rd Bt. and Helen Little, on 7 October 1890.1 She died on 4 March 1923.1
