Leonard Wyndham Daly Holmes à Court was born on 26 September 1881.1 He was the son of Arthur Wyndham Holmes à Court and Ann Berkeley Hartman-Berkeley.2 He married Helen Marjorie Hardtman, daughter of Robert Allman Hardtman, on 1 October 1909.1 He died on 19 June 1934 at age 52.1
