Henry Lyster was the son of Colonel Richard Lyster and Penelope Price.2 He married Lady Charlotte Barbara Ashley-Cooper, daughter of Cropley Ashley-Cooper, 6th Earl of Shaftesbury and Lady Anne Spencer, in 1824.1 He died on 12 December 1863.1,2

He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 24 November 1749.3 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1757.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leominster between 1759 and 1768.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Radnorshire between 1769 and 1777.1
