Bennet Sherard, 3rd Earl of Harborough was baptised on 3 September 1709.2 He was the son of Philip Sherard, 2nd Earl of Harborough and Anne Pedley.1,3 He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Verney, daughter of Ralph Verney, 1st Earl Verney and Catherine Paschall, on 27 June 1748.1 He married, secondly, Frances Noel, daughter of William Noel, on 3 July 1757.1 He married, thirdly, Margaret Hill, daughter of Thomas Hill, on 21 March 1761.1 He married, fourthly, Elizabeth Cave, daughter of Sir Thomas Cave, 5th Bt. and Elizabeth Davies, in 1767.1 He died on 23 February 1770 at age 60.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baron Sherard, of Leitrim [I., 1627] on 20 July 1758.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Harborough, of Harborough, co. Leicester [G.B., 1714] on 20 July 1758.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Harborough [G.B., 1719] on 20 July 1758.1
