     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cambridgeshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cambridgeshire.¹ He gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in the 4th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was commander of the 13th Services Battalion, Suffolk Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in 1917.¹ He lived at Chesterford House, Great Chesterford, Essex, England^G.¹

     Lillian Charlotte Anderson was the daughter of Musgrave Wroughton Anderson and Charlotte Miller.¹ She married Major Alan Sidney Wentworth Stanley, son of Sidney Stanley and Sara Foster, on 13 February 1889.¹ She died on 12 August 1946.¹
     From 13 February 1889, her married name became Stanley.¹

     Musgrave Wroughton Anderson married Charlotte Miller, daughter of Hon. Henry Miller.¹
