     John William Morton Mansel was born on 2 August 1909.¹ He was the son of Algernon Lascelles Mansel and Isita Rodger Wilson.² He married Gillian Valerie Whinney, daughter of Douglas Harold Whinney, on 3 May 1952.¹ He died on 29 July 1974 at age 64.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and became a POW.² He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Battalion, The Queen's Royal Regiment (Territorial Army.)¹ He wrote the book The Mansel Diaries.³ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institute of British Architects (F.R.I.B.A.)¹

     Gillian Valerie Whinney was born circa 1930.² She was the daughter of Douglas Harold Whinney.³ She married, firstly, John William Morton Mansel, son of Algernon Lascelles Mansel and Isita Rodger Wilson, on 3 May 1952.¹ She married, secondly, John Marles Sedgwick Barnard on 3 December 1977.³ She died on 29 April 2025.²
     From 3 May 1952, her married name became Mansel. From 3 December 1977, her married name became Barnard.³ She lived in 2003 at 1 Lower Barn, Salford, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Isita Susan Mansel was born on 24 January 1954.¹ She is the daughter of John William Morton Mansel and Gillian Valerie Whinney.² She married, firstly, J. Peter Raffe, son of Joseph Raffe, on 16 August 1978.¹ She and J. Peter Raffe were divorced in 1985.¹ She married, secondly, Roy Thomas Pickering in 1988.²
     From 16 August 1978, her married name became Raffe. From 1988, her married name became Pickering.²

     J. Peter Raffe is the son of Joseph Raffe.² He married Isita Susan Mansel, daughter of John William Morton Mansel and Gillian Valerie Whinney, on 16 August 1978.¹ He and Isita Susan Mansel were divorced in 1985.¹

     Jonathan Luke Raffe was born on 24 September 1980.¹ He is the son of J. Peter Raffe and Isita Susan Mansel.²

     Sally Jane Isita Raffe was born on 31 March 1979.¹ She is the daughter of J. Peter Raffe and Isita Susan Mansel.²

     Philippa Clare Mansel was born on 26 April 1955.¹ She is the daughter of John William Morton Mansel and Gillian Valerie Whinney.² She married George Jones on 1 September 2001.¹
