Thomas William Sandes was the son of Stephen Creagh Sandes.2 He married Sarah Amy Macnamara, daughter of Rawdon Macnamara and Sarah Annie Blanchard, on 5 May 1873 at 95 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.3 He died on 7 February 1913 at Dereen, Ennis Road, Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland.3
