     Admiral James O'Brien, 3rd Marquess of Thomond was born circa 1768.¹ He was the son of Edward O'Brien and Mary Carrick.² He married, firstly, Eliza Bridgeman Willyams, daughter of James Willyams and Anne Champion, on 25 November 1800 at Truro, Cornwall, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Jane Ottley, daughter of Thomas Ottley and Grace Johnson Byam, in 1806 at Clarke's Hill, Antigua^G.¹ He married, thirdly, Anne Flint, daughter of William Flint and Anne Mill, on 5 January 1847.³ He died on 3 July 1855, without issue.¹ He was buried on 10 July 1855 at St. Saviour's, Walcot, England^G.
     He was commissioned in 1783, in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Midshipman between 1786 and 1789.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1790.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in 1796.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1799.¹ He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1825.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.) in 1831.¹ He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1837.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baron O'Brien of Burren, co.      The marquessate, earldom and 1654 barony became extinct on his death.¹

     Sir Edward O'Brien, 4th Bt. was born on 17 April 1773.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Lucius O'Brien, 3rd Bt. and Anne ffrench.² He married Charlotte Smith, daughter of William Smith, on 12 November 1799.¹ He died on 13 March 1837 at age 63.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis between 1795 and 1800.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet O'Brien, of Lemeneagh and Dromoland, co. Clare [I., 1686] on 15 January 1795.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Clare between 1802 and 1826.¹

     Rt. Hon. Sir Lucius O'Brien, 3rd Bt. was born on 2 September 1731.² He was the son of Sir Edward O'Brien, 2nd Bt. and Mary Hickman.² He married Anne ffrench, daughter of Robert ffrench and Nichola Acheson, on 26 May 1768.² He died on 15 January 1795 at age 63.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ennis between 1761 and 1768.³ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet O'Brien, of Lemeneagh and Dromoland, co.      Sir Edward O'Brien, 2nd Bt. was born on 7 April 1705.¹ He was the son of Lucius O'Brien and Catherine Keightley.² He married Mary Hickman, daughter of Hugh Hickman, in 1726.¹ He died on 26 November 1765 at age 60.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet O'Brien, of Lemeneagh and Dromoland, co. Clare [I., 1686] on 17 November 1717.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peterborough from 1727 to 1728.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Clare [Ireland] between 1728 and 1765.¹

     Sir Donough O'Brien, 1st Bt. was born in 1642.¹ He was the son of Colonel Connor McDonogh O'Brien and Mary 'Rua' MacMahon.³ He married by contract, firstly, Lucia Hamilton, daughter of Hon. Sir George Hamilton, 1st Bt. and Lady Mary Butler, on 24 July 1674.⁴ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Deane, daughter of Major Joseph Deane, on 23 July 1677.¹ He died on 17 November 1717.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He was created 1st Baronet O'Brien, of Lemeneagh and Dromoland, co. Clare [Ireland] on 9 November 1686.¹

     Lucius O'Brien was the son of Sir Donough O'Brien, 1st Bt. and Lucia Hamilton.³ He married Catherine Keightley, daughter of Rt. Hon. Thomas Keightley and Lady Frances Hyde, in 1701.¹ He died on 6 January 1717 at Paris, France^G.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Clare between 1703 and 1714.¹

     Colonel Connor McDonogh O'Brien was born in 1617.¹ He was the son of Donogh O'Brien and Honora Wingfield.² He married Mary 'Rua' MacMahon, daughter of Turlough Roe MacMahon.¹ He died in 1651, killed in action.
     He gained the rank of Colonel.¹ He lived at Lemenagh, County Clare, Ireland.¹

     Donogh O'Brien was born in 1595.¹ He was the son of Connor McDonogh O'Brien and Slany O'Brien.² He married Honora Wingfield, daughter of Richard Wingfield and Honora O'Brien.¹ He died on 10 January 1634/35.¹
     He lived at Lemenagh, County Clare, Ireland.²

     Connor McDonogh O'Brien was the son of Donogh McMurrough O'Brien and Slany Macnamara.² He married Slany O'Brien, daughter of Sir Terlough O'Brien and Anabel Lynch.² He died on 2 January 1603/4.¹
     He lived at Lemenagh, County Clare, Ireland.²

     Donogh McMurrough O'Brien was the son of Murrough O'Brien, 1st Earl of Thomond and Eleanor fitz John.² He and Honora O'Brien were divorced.¹ He married, firstly, Honora O'Brien, daughter of Conor O'Brien, 2nd Earl of Thomond and Una O'Brien.¹ He married, secondly, Slany Macnamara, daughter of John Macnamara.¹ He died on 6 September 1582 at Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland, hanged under martial law operating at the time, despite being under nominal protection.¹
     He lived at Dromoland, County Clare, Ireland.¹ He lived at Lemenagh, County Clare, Ireland.¹
