     Captain Cuthbert Joseph Hay was born on 30 March 1882.¹ He was the son of James Gordon Hay and Mary Catherine Cox.¹ He married Letitia Griffith Fausset, daughter of Frederick Heyligher Fausset, on 7 July 1908.¹ He died in 1970.¹
