     He lived at Birdstown, County Donegal, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Recorder of Prince of Wales' Island between 1856 and 1866.² He was appointed Knight on 30 January 1856.² He held the office of Recorder of Singapore between 1866 and 1871.² He held the office of Chief Justice of the Straits Settlements between 1867 and 1871.¹

     Reverend Peter Benson Maxwell was born circa 1780 at Birdstown, County Donegal, Ireland.² He married Hester Emily O'Hara.² He died on 23 January 1867 at Bath, Somerset, England.²
