     Alice Constable was born in 1613.2 She was the daughter of Sir John Constable and Dorothy Barnham.1,3 She married, firstly, Edmund Anderson, son of Sir Francis Anderson and Judith Soame, in 1630.1,2 She and Sir Thomas Cotton, 2nd Bt. obtained a marriage license on 17 April 1640.1
     From 1630, her married name became Anderson.1 From 17 April 1640, her married name became Cotton.1
