     He gained the rank of Colonel in the The Buffs.1 He fought in the First World War.2

     Hugh Montgomery Lyons was born in 1750.2 He was the son of Captain John Lyons and Dorothy Montgomery.3 He married Hon. Catherine Hamilton, daughter of Richard Hamilton, 4th Viscount Boyne and Georgiana Bury.1 He died in 1792.3
     His name was legally changed to Hugh Montgomery Lyons.3 He was given the name of Hugh Lyons at birth.1
