     Robert Allman Smith was born on 22 November 1843 at County Dublin, Ireland.² He was the son of Reverend George Sydney Smith and Charlotte Lees.¹ He married Isabel Hyndman on 9 July 1874.² He married Eva Kate Crozier, daughter of Reverend Baptist Barton Crozier and Catherine Mary Bolland, on 22 September 1885 at St. Bartholomew Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He died on 4 May 1918 at age 74 at County Tipperary, Ireland.²
     He was County Inspector of the Royal Irish Constabulary.¹
