Geoffrey de Say was born circa 1155 at West Greenwich, Kent, England.1,2 He was the son of Geoffrey de Say and Alice Maminot.3 He married, firstly, Alice de Chesney, daughter of John de Chesney.1 He married, secondly, Margery de Briwere, daughter of William de Briwere and Beatrice de Vaux, after 1225.1 He and Margery de Briwere were divorced.1 He died on 24 August 1230 at Gascoigne, Poitou, FranceG.1,2
He lived at West Greenwich, Kent, England.4 In 1210 he was in Ireland with King John's army, one of the barons (magnates rather than peers of Parliament) opposed to John and one of the 25 assigned to see that Magna Charta was observed.1 He was a pilgrim to the Holy Land in 1219.1

William de Say was the son of Geoffrey de Say and Alice de Chesney.2 He married, firstly, Sibyl Marshal, daughter of John Marshal.1 He married, secondly, Mary (?)1 He died before 12 February 1271/72.1
He held the office of Governor of Rochester Castle between 1205 and 1271.3 In April 1230 he accompanied his father to France.1 In 1237 he witnessed the treaty between King Henry III and King Alexander II of Scotland.1 In 1242 he accompanied King Henry III to France.1
From 1253 to 1254 he accompanied King Henry III to France and captured seven French prisoners in a skirmish at Saintes on 22 July 1242.1 He fought in the Battle of Lewes in 1264, for King Henry III.1
