Lady Jane Hope was baptised on 18 December 1766 at Abercorn, West Lothian, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of John Hope, 2nd Earl of Hopetoun and Jane Oliphant.1 She married, firstly, Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville of Melville, son of Robert Dundas, Lord Arniston and Anne Gordon, on 2 April 1793 at St. Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1,2 She married, secondly, Thomas Wallace, 1st Baron Wallace on 16 February 1814.1 She died on 9 June 1829 at age 62, without issue.1
From 2 April 1793, her married name became Dundas. After her marriage, Lady Jane Hope was styled as Viscountess Melville of Melville on 24 December 1802. From 16 February 1814, her married name became Wallace.

Admiral Sir James Robert Drummond was born on 15 September 1812.2 He was the son of James Andrew John Laurence Charles Drummond, 6th Viscount Strathallan and Lady Amelia Sophia Murray.2 He was baptised on 7 December 1812 at Blackford, Perthshire, Scotland.3 He married Catherine Frances Elliot, daughter of Admiral Hon. Sir George Elliot and Eliza Cecilia Ness, on 5 February 1856.1 He died on 7 October 1895 at age 83.2
