     Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Craik, 1st Bt. was born on 18 October 1846.¹ He was the son of Very Rev. James Craik and Margaret Grieve.¹ He married Fanny Esther Duffield, daughter of Charles Duffield, on 17 December 1873.¹ He died on 16 March 1927 at age 80.¹
     He was examiner at the Educatiion Department in 1870.¹ He was senior examiner in 1878.¹ He was Secretary to the Scottish Education Department between 1885 and 1904.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1887.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1897.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Glasgow and Aberdeen Universities between 1906 and 1918.¹ He was principal between 1911 and 1914 at Queen's College,Harley Street, London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Glasgow and Aberdeen Universities in 1918.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 16 January 1918.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He was created 1st Baronet Craik, of Kennoway, co. Fife [U.K.] on 27 January 1926.²

     Fanny Esther Duffield was the daughter of Charles Duffield.¹ She married Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Craik, 1st Bt., son of Very Rev. James Craik and Margaret Grieve, on 17 December 1873.¹ She died on 13 December 1923.¹
     Her married name became Craik.

     Sir Henry Duffield Craik, 3rd Bt. was born on 2 January 1876.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Craik, 1st Bt. and Fanny Esther Duffield.² He married Emily Henrietta D'Obree Baker-Carr, daughter of Reverend Robert Baker-Carr, on 22 October 1901.¹ He died on 26 March 1955 at age 79.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was with the Indian Civil Service in 1899.² He was Deputy Secretary , Government of India Home Department in 1919.² He was Companion of Honour (C.H.)ief Secretary, Government of Punjab in 1922.² He was Financial Commissioner in 1927.² He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Craik, of Kennoway, co. Fife [U.K., 1926] on 9 July 1929.¹ He was Home and Finance Member between 1930 and 1934.² He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.) in 1933.² He was Member of Governor-General's Executive Council between 1934 and 1938.² He was Member, Government of Punjab between 1938 and 1941.² He was appointed Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (G.C.I.E.) in 1941.² He was Political Advisor to Crown Representaive in India between 1941 and 1943.² On his death his baronetcy became extinct.³

     Emily Henrietta D'Obree Baker-Carr was the daughter of Reverend Robert Baker-Carr.¹ She married Sir Henry Duffield Craik, 3rd Bt., son of Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Craik, 1st Bt. and Fanny Esther Duffield, on 22 October 1901.² She died on 2 December 1931.¹
     Her married name became Craik.

     John Hardy was the son of John Hardy and Annis Atkinson.² He married Isabel Gathorne, daughter of Richard Gathorne, on 16 August 1804.¹

     Sir John Hardy, 1st Bt. was born on 23 February 1809.² He was the son of John Hardy and Isabel Gathorne.¹ He married Laura Holbech, daughter of William Holbech, on 13 August 1846.² He died on 9 July 1888 at age 79.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Midhurst in 1859.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dartmouth between 1860 and 1868.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Warwickshire between 1868 and 1874.² He was created 1st Baronet Hardy, of Dunstall Hall, co. Stafford [U.K.] on 23 February 1876.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He held the office of High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1878.²

     James Orr married Jane Stewart, daughter of Richard Stewart.
