     From 17 August 1928, her married name became Mayhew.1 From 6 January 1937, her married name became Esson-Scott.1

     Major John de Perigault Gurney Mayhew was born on 31 July 1908.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir John Dixon Mayhew and Louise Katherine Guendolen Gurney.1,3 He married, firstly, Hon. Rosemary Sylvia Cary, daughter of Lucius Plantagenet Cary, 13th Viscount of Falkland and Ella Louise Catford, on 17 August 1928.1 He and Hon. Rosemary Sylvia Cary were divorced in 1936.1 He married, secondly, Mary Arnoldi, daughter of Thomas Fulford Gibson Arnoldi and Annie Doris Howarth Gilmore, on 23 December 1936.4 He and Mary Arnoldi were divorced in 1946.4 He died in 1985.2
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Major in the South Staffordshire Regiment.5 He lived at 4 Cresswell Gardens, London, England.5
