Basil Howard Moreton, 6th Earl of Ducie was born on 15 November 1917.1 He was the son of Hon. Algernon Howard Moreton and Dorothy Edith Annie Bell.2 He married Alison Bates, daughter of Leslie Aitken Bates, on 15 April 1950.1 He died on 12 November 1991 at age 73 at Bristol, England.1,3
He was educated at Church of England Grammar School, Brisbane, Queensland, AustraliaG.1 He gained the rank of Staff Sergeant in the 62nd Australian Infantry Battalion, and 2nd/3rd Australian Infantry Battalion.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1941 and 1945, in New Guinea and the Islands.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Moreton of Tortworth, co. Gloucester [U.K., 1837] on 17 June 1952.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Ducie of Tortworth, co.
