Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen Cave was born on 28 September 1820.1 He was the son of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock.2 He married Emma Jan Smyth, daughter of Reverend William Smyth, in 1852.1 He died on 7 June 1880 at age 59, without issue.1
