     Caroline Hales was born in 1772.² She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Pym Hales, 4th Bt. and Mary Heyward.^1,3 She married Colonel Hon. William John Gore, son of Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Hon. Catherine Annesley, on 30 May 1798.⁴ She died on 7 June 1836.⁴
     Her married name became Gore.

     Sir Thomas Pym Hales, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Hales, 3rd Bt. and Mary Marsham. He married Mary Heyward on 11 October 1764 at The Church of St. Andrews, Tilmanstone, Kent, England.² He died in 1773.
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) He gained the title of 4th Baronet Hales.¹

     Elizabeth Marianne Napier was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir William Francis Patrick Napier and Caroline Amelia Fox.¹ She married Philip Yorke Gore, 4th Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands, son of Colonel Hon. William John Gore and Caroline Hales, on 1 March 1838 at Freshford, Somerset, England^G.¹ She died on 27 April 1899.¹
     Her married name became Gore.

     Lady Edith Elizabeth Henrietta Jocelyn was born on 10 February 1845.² She was the daughter of Robert Jocelyn, Viscount Jocelyn and Lady Frances Elizabeth Cowper.^1,2 She married Arthur Saunders William Charles Fox Gore, 5th Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands, son of Philip Yorke Gore, 4th Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Elizabeth Marianne Napier, on 21 February 1865.² She died on 3 October 1871 at age 26 at Basle, Switzerland^G.²
     Her married name became Gore.

     Natasha Anouk Eva Wierre-Gore was born in 1991.¹ He is the son of Laurent Christopher Michel Wierre and Dr. Georgiana Sarah Gore.¹

     Winifred Ellen Reilly was the daughter of John Reilly and Hon. Augusta Sudgen.¹ She married, firstly, Lieutenant Hon. John Montagu Stopford, son of James Thomas Stopford, 4th Earl of Courtown and Dora Pennefather, on 5 May 1881.¹ She married, secondly, Arthur Saunders William Charles Fox Gore, 5th Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands, son of Philip Yorke Gore, 4th Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Elizabeth Marianne Napier, on 29 July 1889 at Royal Chapel, Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Park, Berkshire, England^G.¹ She died on 12 November 1921 at 50 Eaton Square, London, England^G.² She was buried on 16 November 1921 at Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.²
     From 5 May 1881, her married name became Stopford. She held the office of Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Christian between 1886 and 1889.³ From 29 July 1889, her married name became Gore. After her marriage, Winifred Ellen Reilly was styled as Countess of Arran of the Arran Islands on 29 July 1889.

     John Reilly was born on 16 November 1817.² He was the son of James Miles Reilly and Emilia Georgina Susanna Montgomery.² He married Hon. Augusta Sudgen, daughter of Edward Burtenshaw Sugden, 1st Baron St. Leonards and Winifred Knapp, on 14 August 1845.³ He died on 1 July 1875 at age 57.³
     He held the office of Deputy-Keeper of the Rolls in Ireland.² He was a practising barrister-at-law.³ He lived at St. Bridget's, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Hon. Augusta Sudgen was the daughter of Edward Burtenshaw Sugden, 1st Baron St. Leonards and Winifred Knapp.¹ She married John Reilly, son of James Miles Reilly and Emilia Georgina Susanna Montgomery, on 14 August 1845.² She died on 29 December 1903.²
     From 14 August 1845, her married name became Reilly.²

     Edward Burtenshaw Sugden, 1st Baron St. Leonards was born on 12 February 1781.² He was the son of Richard Sugden and Charlotte Burtenshaw.² He married Winifred Knapp, daughter of John Knapp, on 23 December 1808.² He died on 29 January 1875 at age 93.²
     He was a conveyancer between 1805 and 1807.² He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1807 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.² He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.)² He held the office of Bencher of Lincoln's Inn in 1822.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Weymouth between 1828 and 1831.² He was appointed Knight in 1829.² He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1829 and 1830.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for St. Mawes from 1831 to 1832.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1834.² He held the office of Lord Chancellor of Ireland between January 1835 and April 1835.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ripon between 1837 and 1841.² He held the office of Lord Chancellor of Ireland between 1841 and 1846.² He held the office of Lord Chancellor of Great Britain between February 1852 and December 1852.² He was created 1st Baron St. Leonards [U.K.] on 1 March 1852.² He had four other sons, died unmarried.²

     Vice-Admiral James Berkeley, 3rd Earl of Berkeley was born after 1679. He was the son of Charles Berkeley, 2nd Earl of Berkeley and Hon. Elizabeth Noel.¹ He married Lady Louisa Lennox, daughter of Charles Lennox, 1st Duke of Richmond and Anne Brudenell, on 13 February 1711.¹ He died on 17 August 1736 at Castle of Aubigny, France^G.¹ He was buried on 31 October 1736 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ His will (dated 23 May 1735) was proven (by probate) on 4 October 1736.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in 1701 in the Royal Navy.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      Lord Hervey writes "he was a man of great family and great quality, rough, proud, hard, and obstinate, with excellent good natural parts, but so uncultivated that he was totally ignorant of every branch of knowledge but his profession. He was haughty and tyrannical, but honourable, gallant, observant of his word; equally incapable of flattering a prince, bending to a minister, or lying to anybody he had to deal with."¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
