     Thomas Carew was born before 1427.¹ He was the son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay.² He married Joan Carminowe, daughter of Thomas Carminowe.¹ He died in October 1461.¹
     He lived at Mohun's Ottery.¹ Due to his failing to answer summons to military service and his never being knighted, it has been conjectured that he had poor health or was otherwise physically handicapped.¹

     Joan Carminowe is the daughter of Thomas Carminowe.¹ She married Thomas Carew, son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay.¹
     Her married name became Carew.

     John Carew was the son of Thomas Carew and Joan Carminowe.² He married Margaret Dinham, daughter of Sir John Dinham, 6th Lord Dinham.¹ He died in 1470 at London, England^G.¹
     He was also known as Nicholas.¹

     Margaret Dinham was the daughter of Sir John Dinham, 6th Lord Dinham.¹ She married John Carew, son of Thomas Carew and Joan Carminowe.¹ She died in 1470, in the same week as her husband.¹
     She was also known as Margery.¹ Her married name became Carew.

     Edmund Carew was born in 1464.¹ He was the son of John Carew and Margaret Dinham.²
     He was an ancestor of the Carews of Mohun's Ottery (extinct by 1575), Carews of Bickleigh Castle (male line expired 1681) and George Carew, 1st and last Earl of Totnes (extinct 1629.)¹ He was a great-grandfather of Sir Walter Ralegh.¹ During his minority Carew Castle was first mortgaged to then foreclosed on by Rhys ap Thomas.¹

     Sir Nicholas Carew was the son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay.² He married Elizabeth Croker, daughter of Sir John Croker.¹ He died on 13 September 1469.¹
     He lived at Milton, Devon, England^G.¹ He lived at Ringmore, Devon, England^G.¹ He lived at Haccombe, Devon, England^G.¹

     Hugh Carew was the son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay.² He died in 1470, without issue.¹

     Alexander Carew was the son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay.² He married Elizabeth Hatch, daughter of John Hatch.³ He died in 1492.¹
     He lived at East Antony, Cornwall, England^G.¹ He was ancestor of the Carew Baronets of Antony (1641–1799), themselves ancestors of the later Carew-Pole Baronets.¹

     Sir William Carew was the son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay.² He died in 1501.¹
     He was appointed Knight in 1487 by King Henry VII following the Battle of Stoke (his victory over the impostor Lambert Simnel.)¹
     He was ancestor of the Carews of Carew Castle and the Trollope-Bellews of Crowcombe.¹

     James Hoste Welldon was born circa 1897 at Sri Lanka^G.¹ He was the son of Charles Edward Welldon and Mary Hoste.¹ He died in 1917 at France^G, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹
