Sir Gregory Byrne, 1st Bt. was the son of Daniel Byrne and Anne Taylor.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Copley, daughter of Colonel Christopher Copley and Lady Mary Jones, circa 15 March 1669/70.1 He married, secondly, Alice Fleming, daughter of Randall Fleming, 16th Lord Slane and Penelope Moore, in 1690.1 He died in March 1712.1
He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 23 June 1662.1 He was created 1st Baronet Byrne, of Timogue, Queen's County [Ireland] on 17 May 1671.1 He was Tax Assessor for Queen's County.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ballynakill [Ireland] in 1689.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Queen's County from 28 November 1689 to 10 June 1690.1
