George Armitstead, 1st and last Baron Armitstead was born on 28 February 1824 at Riga, LatviaG.1 He was the son of George Armitstead and Emma Jacobs.1 He was baptised at Riga, LatviaG. He married Jane Elizabeth Baxter, daughter of Edward Baxter and Euphemia Wilson, in 1848.1 He died on 7 December 1915 at age 91 at 4 Cleveland Square, London, EnglandG, without issue.1 He was buried on 11 December 1915.1
