     He fought in the Indian Mutiny.² He was Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 24 December 1858.^1,2 He gained the rank of Major in the Scots Greys and 14th Hussars.¹

     Maria Caroline Leith was the daughter of Major James Leith, V.C. and Isabella Shaw.¹ She married Brig.-Gen. James Dayrolles Crosbie, son of Colonel James Crosbie and Rosa Lister-Kaye, on 28 July 1894.¹ She died on 17 March 1960.¹
     From 28 July 1894, her married name became Crosbie.

     Brig.-Gen. James Dayrolles Crosbie was born on 19 August 1865.¹ He was the son of Colonel James Crosbie and Rosa Lister-Kaye.^2,1 He married Maria Caroline Leith, daughter of Major James Leith, V.C. and Isabella Shaw, on 28 July 1894.³ He died on 18 December 1947 at age 82.³

     Charles Daniel Boyd was born on 10 September 1859.¹ He was the son of Thomas Boyd and Frances Thorpe.² He died on 8 August 1880 at age 20, killed in the Chilcomb tragedy (during the Land League troubles), in which his father and brother were wounded.³
