Sir Thomas Liddell, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Thomas Liddell, 1st Bt. was the son of Thomas Liddell and Margaret Watson.1 He married Isabel Anderson, daughter of Henry Anderson and Isabella Morland, on 23 February 1595/96.1,2 He died in 1650.1
     He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 15 March 1619/20.1 He was a royalist during the Civil War, hence was fined £4,000 as delinquent.3 In 1642 he defended Newcastle against the Scots.3 He was created 1st Baronet Liddell [England] on 2 November 1642.4
