James Maurice Scott was born on 13 December 1906 at Egypt.4 He married, firstly, Pamela Mary Watkins, daughter of Henry George Watkins and Jennie Helen Monsell, in 1933.1,4 He and Pamela Mary Watkins were divorced in 1958.3 He married, secondly, Adriana Rinaldi after 1958.4 He died on 12 March 1986 at age 79.4
He was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.4 He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.4 In 1933 a member of the 1933 British Mount Everest expedition.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.4 Second World War.4 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.4 He wrote the book Sea-Wyf and Biscuit, published 1955.4
