Charles MacCarty, 1st Viscount Muskerry1

     Charles MacCarty, 1st Viscount Muskerry was the son of Sir Cormac MacDermot MacCarty and Mary Butler.2 He married, secondly, Ellen Roche, daughter of David Roche, 7th Viscount Roche of Fermoy and Joan Barry.1 He married, firstly, Margaret O'Brien, daughter of Donough O'Brien, 3rd Earl of Thomond and Helen Roche.3 He died on 21 February 1640/41 at London, EnglandG.1,4
     He was also known as Cormac 'Oge'.3 He was created 1st Viscount Muskerry [Ireland] in 1628.

     Theobald Butler, 1st Baron Caher was the son of Piers Butler and unknown daughter Butler.2 He married Mary Cusack, daughter of Sir Thomas Cusack and Maud Darcy. He died on 28 April 1596 at Caher, County Tipperary, IrelandG.2
     He was appointed Knight on 14 February 1566/67 at Clonmel, County Tipperary, IrelandG.2 He was created 1st Baron Caher [Ireland] on 6 May 1583.2 His last will was dated 27 November 1593.2
