Edward Brabazon, 1st Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee1

     Edward Brabazon, 1st Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee was born circa 1548.1 He was the son of Sir William Brabazon and Elizabeth Clifford.1 He married Mary Smythe, daughter of Edward Smith.2 He died on 7 August 1625.1 He was buried at St. Catharine's, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) in 1625.1
     He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1584.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wicklow in 1585.1 He was appointed Knight on 24 August 1595 by the Lord Deputy [Ireland].1 In 1598 he purchased the estate of Nether Whitacre, Warwickshire.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Stafford from 1606 to 1607.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bangor between 1613 and 1615.1 He was one of the Council of Munster in 1615.1 He was created 1st Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee, co. Louth [Ireland] on 19 July 1616.1 His last will was dated from 16 February 1624/25 to 27 March 1625. In 1630 he sold the estate of Nether Whitacre, Warwickshire.1

     Sir William Brabazon was the son of John Brabazon and unknown Chaworth.2 He married Elizabeth Clifford, daughter of Nicholas Clifford, before 1552.3 He died on 9 July 1552.1

     Elizabeth Clifford was the daughter of Nicholas Clifford.1 She married, fourthly, Sir Edward Moore, son of John Moore.2 She married, thirdly, Captain Humphrey Warren.2 She married, firstly, Sir William Brabazon, son of John Brabazon and unknown Chaworth, before 1552.2 She married, secondly, Christopher Blunte after 1552.2 She died on 30 November 1581.2
     Her married name became Warren.2 Her married name became Moore.2 From before 1552, her married name became Brabazon.1 From after 1552, her married name became Blunte.2

     Mary Smythe was the daughter of Edward Smith.1 She married Edward Brabazon, 1st Lord Brabazon, Baron of Ardee, son of Sir William Brabazon and Elizabeth Clifford.2 She died on 13 August 1625.1
     Her married name became Brabazon.1 After her marriage, Mary Smythe was styled as Baroness Brabazon on 19 August 1616.
